My name is Tara Lemerise and when I started practi My name is Tara Lemerise and when I started practicing yoga, I thought it was all about hard work.

Well actually, maybe I should back up a little to say that when I started practicing yoga I thought everything about life was hard work.

And then I accidentally ended up in a Restorative Yoga class and everything changed.

I've been teaching Restorative Yoga since 2005 and I've supported hundreds of students in coming to their own realizations that deep resting is powerfully transformative.

I led my first 12-hour Restorative Yoga Teacher training in 2014 and since then, my Rest for All Restorative Yoga Teacher Training program has since evolved into 100 hours of material, including an amazing manual 50+ page manual chocked full of everything I know about Restorative Yoga poses, practices, teaching techniques, sequences and much more.

I'm teaching the first 50-hour module of this program starting February 27 at @rootsandriveryoga and you are officially invited!

There's room for a very small number of in-person students (we are keeping to very strict COVID precautions) but there is lots of space to study with us online via live-stream. I've run a shorter version program online a few months ago to rave reviews. You will absolutely get TONS of great stuff whether you study with me in person or online.

This program is great for new teachers, experienced teachers who are looking to expand their toolkits, and Restorative Yoga students who want to understand why and how the practice works.

Message me with questions. All of the details for the program are in the link at my bio.

Seriously though, my 50-hour Restorative Yoga Teacher Training starts on February 27 and I’m so grateful to be hosted once again by my favorite studio of all time, owned by the incomparable @machelleleeyoga

We have space for 6 students in person (with strict COVID protocols) but there's lots of space for you to join the program online for the live-stream.

Check out all of the details at the link in my bio.

I have the worst sense of direction. Really, the w I have the worst sense of direction. Really, the worst. I have to work hard to orient myself whenever I'm driving or walking. Even if it's route I've taken hundreds of times.

When I come to my yoga mat for a practice, working up to a peak or pinnacle pose is like a having a smart phone GPS with me.

I know some teachers argue against peak pose practices. And I totally get it. Having a "goal pose" in yoga puts us in direct contrast to some of the most fundamental teachings of yoga. We absolutely run the risk of commodifying postures when we set our sights on a particular pose to achieve or master.

And also. It's easy to get lost. A peak pose helps me find my way.

For the next few weeks in my classes, we are exploring what it means to abide in peace and how we can find our way back when we're lost.

Patanjali offered us four keys to a peaceful mind in the Yoga Sutra. These keys are exactly the same as Buddhism's brahmavihārās - also known as the four divine abodes or the four immeasurable.

And what better pose to head us in the right direction than compass pose?

This challenging shape asks us to be flexible in hips, hamstrings, and adductors, we need some big side body stretching, and support from core. Sounds great, right?

If you are interesting in exploring how to find peace or how to make compass pose more possible in your body, find the link in my bio to join a live-streaming class:
