Fall is the perfect time of year to rest and settle your body and mind in preparation for the colder months ahead. Restorative yoga can help quiet your mind, soothe your nervous system, release deeply held tension, and unlock your body’s potential for healing. This retreat is designed so you can rest fully and completely with a schedule that includes active yoga practice, restorative yoga poses, iRest guided meditation, optional massage, and delicious nourishing food.

This retreat is suitable for students of all levels and abilities. No yoga or meditation experience is necessary.

Location & Accommodations

A one-hour drive away, just 65 miles outside of Washington, DC, Blue Mountain Retreat Center feels worlds away. This eco-friendly retreat center is located in a small rural community in the hills near Harper’s Ferry and shares 27 acres of property with Ehrhardt Organic Farm. The surrounding woods in their fall splendor make for a welcoming escape from the hustle of everyday life in the city.

The retreat house is a welcoming home complete with a large  kitchen, eight guestrooms, two massage rooms, and lots of open, cozy sitting areas. There is a fantastic wrap around deck plus plenty of indoor dining space where guests enjoy meals together.

Delicious organic vegetarian home-cooked meals are prepared by retreat center owner Beth Ehrhardt from in-season produce. Vegan and gluten-free options are available.

Guest rooms include options for a private room with shared hall bathrooms, or shared room for 3 or 4 with shared hall bathrooms. Twin-size European platform beds with high quality mattresses make for a simple but very comfortable stay. All towels and linens are provided.

yoga room at Blue MountainThe yoga space is perfect for restorative practice. Conveniently located just a few steps away from the house, it is a lovely light-filled “great” room with high ceilings, large windows, and skylights.

Massage appointments are available throughout the weekend.

Cost

Shared room for 3 or 4 with shared hall bathroom – $450 per person

Private Room with shared hall bathroom – $500 per person   Private room option is SOLD OUT. To be added to the waiting list, email tara@taralemeriseyoga.com.

Cost includes all yoga sessions, Friday and Saturday night stay and six meals.

There will be a space to indicate the name of your preferred roommate(s) during the registration process. If you register for a shared room but do not indicate a roommate, one will be assigned to you.

Massage – $75 per hour appointment

Massage appointment are available throughout the weekend and specific times after you register.

All necessary yoga props will be available for your use during the retreat. However, you are welcome to bring your own props if you would like.

Retreat Leaders

Tara Lemerise photoTara Lemerise, E-RYT 200, was expecting the Ashtanga Primary Series but accidentally ended up in a restorative yoga class instead and was hooked. She is now known for leading deeply calming, nurturing restorative yoga practices. Tara’s skillful use of props and soothing voice help students optimize the healing power of restorative practice so everyone leaves feeling more joyful and more at ease after each session. ST headshot 2013Special guest iRest® Yoga Nidra teacher, Susan Timmons is a longtime yogi and native Texan who especially enjoys the relaxing and easeful benefits of Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra.  In 2011, Susan received advanced training from the Integrative Restoration Institute® and teaches an adaptation of Yoga Nidra known as iRest® and is currently studying to be  a Restorative Yoga teacher.  When not teaching, Susan lives in New York with her husband and is an immigration lawyer who directs the Pro Bono Program for the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
